Silk exudes a regality that very few other fabrics can match. The brilliant shine that vibrates from a traditional hand-woven silk fabric spells class and beauty. The process of producing silk involves multiple stages such as extracting silk threads from the cocoons of silk-worms, twisting multiple silk threads to make strong threads and weaving the threads on handlooms. People associate silk with special occasions and richness. It is alluring and can boast of a grand appeal as well as a tinge of nostalgia. On the whole, silk is a fabric that can never go wrong. So, whether you are all set for a night of glamour or you want to turn on your traditional charm, silk can be just the thing you are looking for!

This saree is made of a gorgeous hand-woven silk fabric. Silk is a natural animal-based fiber that has centuries of history. It has always been considered the most regal of fabrics and remains the most festive, alluring fabric in the modern wardrobe as well. The fine weave of this fabric from the weaving communities of West Bengal makes it very malleable, soft, light-weight and a dream to drape. Over 40 artisans and weavers have worked to craft this collection of handloom sarees and the weavers create magic on their looms, as they take 20 days and sometimes 25 days to weave one single saree, and pour their love into the fabric for it to take life in our wardrobe. And, when the fabric takes shape, the characteristic shine of the silk and the comfort of its texture inevitably become a combination that can win hearts over.

Viscose and modal are bio-based fibres derived from plants. They are extracted from a compound called cellulose, which lends stiffness and support to plants. This cellulose is realigned to create a fabric that is soft, durable and breathable. When both the fibres are combined, modal imparts lightness and a rich feel to the fabric. Both the fibres are responsibly sourced and have a low carbon footprint.

The Chanderi fabric, which combines pure silk on the warp and zari on the weft, radiates light from within and stands out in the most delicate way. The sarees are painstakingly handwoven, with master weavers dedicating a few days to each piece. In fact, the tradition of Chanderi weaving dates back to the 13th century. In the 1350s, Kosthi weavers migrated to Chanderi, a town in Madhya Pradesh, from Jhansi, from where they propagated this weave. It is said that the royals of several dynasties famously favoured Chanderi fabrics for their richness and utility in the searing hot summers of the plains. Suta has further added to the festive allure of the fabric with delicate embroidered lace embellishments.

Kantha is traditional art that originated right in the heart of loving households of the Bengal region where the industrious women upcycled fabric bits into quilts, blankets and clothing by stitching them together and then crafted beautiful embroidery patterns across the kaleidoscope of fabrics. The artisans use spectacular motifs and delicate stitching techniques to create stunning art.
The Tussar silk is a material that is synonymous with richness and lush beauty. This material is woven using silk threads obtained from the cocoons of silkworms belonging to the moth genus Antheraea. Since most of these silkworms are found in forest areas, Tussar silk is also known to be a wild silk variety or a forest product. The characteristic features of this material are the deep gold colour that the silk exudes and the amazing texture. This kind of silk is thicker than normal silk but needs to be taken care of and preserved since the fibres are shorter and can result in a decrease in durability. But then, anything precious has to be taken care of, right? The natural sheen of this fabric is inimitable and is perfect for festive occasions as well as when you want the spotlight on you!
The magical feel of this fabric combined with the weaving skills of talented weaver results in a fabric that will embrace you and make you shine!
