Celestial Veil
€18,75
Fabric: Polyester
Polyester is a synthetically manufactured fabric that is known for its durability and a characteristic texture. The making of this blouse from fabric is an extensive process where our karigars and tailors come together. First, the master tailor makes a pattern on a brown paper for each size. Our karigars then trace this pattern onto the netted fabric of the blouse. This is then secured to a wooden frame for the hand embroidery to be done. Once this is done, the glitter is pasted onto the design and left to dry. When the fabric is finally ready, it goes to the tailors for the final cutting and sewing. And then behold! the magic of the blouse comes alive!

This stunning screen-printed cotton blouse in red with v-neck and full-sleeves is an extremely comfortable piece that makes a statement and how!
This is a cotton screen-printed blouse. The process of screen-printing involves the usage of a mesh-screen that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension. A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. This way, the dye is applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image. The base on which the design is printed for this blouse is a cotton fabric. Cotton fabric dates back to some of the most ancient civilizations and it has a strong presence in the modern wardrobe as well. The incredible softness and lightness of cotton combined with its strength and versatility makes it one of the most popular choices, especially for the Indian climate. She was a talkative, fun-loving girl who believed in living in the present. She didn’t take life too seriously. He, on the other hand, was a man of few words – he was sincere, mature, and living the life that he had meticulously planned.
For him, life was a series of timetables and schedules. For her, planning was an anathema – she only lived life each day at a time.
She was spiritual and he was practical. They came from different worlds, but they completed each other. Each turned the other's imperfections into a trait that made them stronger together.
This pair of black trousers brings out the best in you, and will make you stand out in a crowd.
Kala cotton is an indigenous strain of cotton that is native to the Kutch area of Gujrat. While the plant is hardy and resilient even in adverse climatic conditions, the fabric produced from it offers excellent durability, quality and comfort. What makes kala cotton so special is the way in which it is grown – the crop is completely rain fed, and no chemical fertilizers are used in its cultivation. This makes kala cotton a sustainable textile choice.

Out of the many things that changed after the baby, this was especially dear. The baby’s fascination with the pumpkin was contagious, it seemed! Its warmth now spread to the hearts of everyone in the house. Sometimes like a lantern and sometimes like a warm cup of latte! This peach and brown tie and dye swaddle in the softest made-in-heaven mul is the perfect hug for the little bundle of love!
This swaddle cloth is made of the made-in-heaven mul that babies love. It is of the dimensions 47*47 metres and is just right to cuddle the little one to comfort. The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is what can be categorised as muslin cotton. It is believed that this fine method of weaving cotton can be traced back to even before the Indus valley civilization. What makes this fabric special is the almost magical process of weaving it. Cotton fibres are separated and spun into strong threads. The lightest and the most delicate fibres are separated and are then spun into muslin thread. These are then woven into fabrics by skilled weavers. The history of muslin weaving is a beautiful chapter in the history of Indian textiles. The process of the yore was much more complex and involved many unique tools that look primitive but worked like magic. The upper jaw of a catfish was used to initially clean the cotton before spinning. To separate the lightest fibres, a Dhunkar (a bamboo bow) was used, which when strung in a distinctive way made the lighter fibres rise above the heavier ones. This process gave the title ‘woven air’ to the muslin fabric. Weavers famously wove on looms that were at ground level and operated the looms from pits dug in the ground. Even during the Mughal era, the muslin fabric was seen as a symbol of power for its finesse. History is full of anecdotes to prove the awe that the muslin fabric generated. Emperor Aurangazeb is said to have chided his daughter Zeb-un-Nisa for appearing naked in the court when in reality she had been wearing several layers of the muslin cloth! Such was the fabric’s delicateness. The almost invisible fabric had made an Arab traveller in the 10th-century remark that the degree of fineness is such that a garment can be drawn through a ring of a middling size. During the British colonisation and even during the Mughal rule, the art of weaving muslin took a hit as weavers were treated poorly and drought hit many of the weaving centres. As a result, today, the process of weaving has seen a lot of change. Nevertheless, the essence of it hasn’t changed and the charm of the fabric still remains.

Wax-resist dyeing has been a part of so many ancient civilisations across the world and can be uniquely characterised by the local motifs and designs used. Specifically in India, Batik is said to have over 2000 years of history. Materials such as wax or rice starch was used to create the resistance to dye and thus create the Batik designs. The entire process involves various steps such as drawing the basic pattern, redrawing using wax and then applying the dye. Then, the wax is removed after the fabric dries. This is done multiple times to create various patterns with different colours. The process of dyeing is something that has been passed down by generations of artisans and the stunning designs created by these master craftsmen are timeless.
This saree has Batik work on handloom mulberry silk fabric. Silk exudes a regality that very few other fabrics can match. The silk worms are made to feed mainly on Mulberry trees for high-quality silk. India is one of the top producers of silk in the world and the fabric is always in demand for its visual attractiveness. People associate silk with special occasions and richness. The fine weave of this fabric from the weaving communities of West Bengal makes it very malleable, soft, light-weight and a dream to drape. Over 40 artisans and weavers have worked to craft this collection of handloom sarees and the weavers create magic on their looms, as they take 20 days and sometimes 25 days to weave one single saree, and pour their love into the fabric for it to take life in our wardrobe. And, when the fabric takes shape, the characteristic shine of the silk and the comfort of its texture inevitably become a combination that can win hearts over.
