The dainty silk thread lends this fabric its complete beauty and it becomes like a drape of fresh air around the body. They argued about their favourite cartoons as passionately as they spoke of philosophy. They loved different things. They were sometimes poles apart, and exactly the same at other times. So, when it came to decorating their first home together, they decided to split the decor.
And just like that, as they put me up on the wall as the final piece, they exclaimed, “Now, THIS is home!”.
This is a versatile bunting that utilises leftover cotton slub fabric and transforms into a beautiful decor accent.

Will you follow me into the dark, where the restless fireflies roam? Where nameless shadows transform into familiar fears? And where the night is silken and unknown?
Will you take me by the hand, and whisper soft promises, so kind, gentle and sweet? Will you stay until the first rush of dawn, or until our worlds meet?
This beautiful white and blue handloom cotton dress captures the glorious interplay of darkness and light. Don’t miss the delicate hand-embroidered details.
Handloom cotton is handwoven by our weavers by hand on mechanical looms. The process is time and labour-intensive, using techniques that have been passed down across generations of artisans. The resultant fabric is extraordinarily soft, breathable and resilient, and also drapes very well. Using handloom cotton not only helps us to work with smaller weavers but also plays an important role in reducing the environmental footprint of the garments we produce. These dresses also feature delicate hand-embroidered details to make each piece truly memorable.

She’d never forget Shanaya. From the moment she first walked into the classroom, her curly hair brushed into an almost angelic halo, Meera knew that Shanaya was special. She had this almost cherubic way about her, and an innocence that sparkled in her deep grey eyes. But what captivated her the most was the way Shanaya’s mind worked. She seemed to live in a parallel dimension, dreaming up new worlds and new adventures that they could embark on, together. That friendship had been short-lived, but it taught Meera a valuable lesson in owning your individuality, with all its quirks. From Shanaya, she learned to live each day to its fullest, and to make each moment count. And, in doing so, she would go on to create so many beautiful memories that were her life’s truest treasures.
Live life to its fullest when you wear this elegant red handloom Jamdani saree.
Jamdani is an incredibly intricate weaving technique. Each motif is inlaid into the fabric using a supplementary weft technique. Here, extra weft threads, often denser than the base, are added using individual spools while weaving. This technique makes the motifs appear as though they are floating on the fluid cotton fabric. Jamdani weaving is highly time intensive and it takes anywhere between several weeks to months to weave one saree. It is indeed a labour of love.

As she gazed into the crowd, her heart looked for that one face. Her aalta decorated hands and feet waited in anticipation, reserving its best colours for him. When he finally arrived, she burst into a colour of red herself. Her best friend, her soulmate, was finally here to celebrate their love of a lifetime and the tears in her eyes spoke of a joy from beyond!
This red and white made-in-heaven mul saree with screen-printed design is a must-have this festive season!
The designs on this fabric come alive on our made-in-heaven mul sarees through an intricate process known as screen-printing. This process involves the usage of a mesh-screen made of synthetic polymers that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension. A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. The dye is then applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image.
The base fabric for these sarees is the forever-favourite made-in-heaven mul.
The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in West Bengal as mul mul, the fabric is buttery soft and delicately beautiful. The weave of this fabric is very fine, and this lends a very fluid texture to it that makes draping it a breeze. It is truly like a hug that wraps you in its love!

She had moved out of her childhood home and her newfound independence put a sunny smile on her face, even though she missed her parents terribly. For her first Christmas in her own apartment, she was super excited, I could tell. She put up the tree a week in advance and I overheard her saying she knew exactly what to give to herself, as a gift. On Christmas eve, she brought home a puppy!
And just like that, while I was perched on the cream wall of her living room, I watched a young girl take her first steps towards creating a family of her own!

Lights out. Two tiny dimmed rays of light turn on from two sides of the king-sized bed. Two heads are seen scrolling and scrolling and scrolling endlessly — he, on his side of the bed — and she, on hers. News, tweets, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, memes, funny videos, movies, series…continue on separate tracks night after night. Sudden giggles, they glance up from our phones, smile at each other, share the joke, and sometimes slide a little closer for a hug. At other times, they go back to the endless and mindless scrolling! There are of course nights when they spend hours deciding on a movie, watching it and then discussing it after it’s over at dinner. That leaves me wondering, have our gadgets made us alone even when we are together or are they somehow binding us in this strange mystery of the digital world? Are they giving us a reason to laugh and learn more often or are they taking away the small opportunities to share a moment together from our everyday lives? Do we not have enough to talk about or is it poetic bliss to be reading a book or watching our phones with our backs to each other, holding hands from time to time, and being completely comfortable in the silence that lies ahead for hours on end? This black kurta with red and white detailing may not bring you clear answers but it tends to take the shape of its wearer’s heart and sets its binding soul free.
Handloom cotton is a type of fabric that is woven using hand-operated looms. Two sets of interlacing yarns, the warp (length) and weft (width), are woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. These looms do not use electricity. Human handling lends the fabrics a unique feel and renders the fabrics more value. The art of hand-weaving is labour intensive and takes a longer time. But, the beauty it adds to the fabric is priceless. Choosing handloom cotton supports the rich weaving heritage of India and lets the weavers carry on the precious art-form to the future generations as well.
The beautiful pomegranate-inspired motif that symbolizes the co-existence of contrasts is hand-woven into the fabric and brings a gorgeous charm to the fabric. It reflects the idea of breaking stereotypes and looking at things in more than one way, of acceptance and un-labeling. Are you ready to box up all those labels and promise never to open that box again? Welcome to the world of “Anaar Hi Anaar” then! There is one anaar for everyone — whether you choose to wear a saree or a kurta or stitch a dress with its fabric.

Viscose and modal are bio-based fibres derived from plants. They are extracted from a compound called cellulose, which lends stiffness and support to plants. This cellulose is realigned to create a fabric that is soft, durable and breathable. When both the fibres are combined, modal imparts lightness and a rich feel to the fabric. Both the fibres are responsibly sourced and have a low carbon footprint.

She missed the days when she would celebrate every small win by kicking off her heels and breaking into a joyous jig. She missed being able to toss her head back in an uproarious laugh. She couldn’t decide if the expectations laid down on her by society as an adult helped to create some semblance of order, or if they were simply stifling. All she knew is that she missed being the person who could be her own true self, without inhibitions. That morning, as she watched the sun trace delicate patterns on the kitchen linoleum, she heard a familiar tune waft towards her from the radio. It was a song she hadn’t heard in years, but still remembered all the words too. Grabbing her bewildered but ever-eager puppy in her arms, she broke into dance, all over again.
Be your carefree self, when you wear this lovely white kurta that’s paired with peach bottoms. This set is made of handloom cotton.

I never understood why people said I looked my most beautiful in the morning. I’d awaken from my reverie to camera flashes, chirping birds, and the warmth of the rising sun. I trembled when a little girl touched me with her soft hands. She pinned me in her hair and ran towards the stream, where a paper boat awaited her. I caught my first glimpse in the clear waters. At last, I knew why they loved me as they did. I reminded them of their own beauty, even when they’d forgotten.
Let the angelic blossoms hand embroidered on this cotton cushion cover brighten your days.

Blouse: The model is wearing XS size blouse called Cherry Eri
Pujo was synonymous with Didun’s bari. She tried to remember each year in separate red envelopes. These cloth cases were saved in the corners of her mind. But however much she tried, the happy red bled into other psychological recesses. Thank god it did! Pujo at Didun’s house was a melting pot of endearing snippets. The arrival was marked with toys — toys her grandmother made with clay. The house smelt of condensed milk, jaggery, grated coconut and incense. More prominently, it had this sheen of celebration. It used to be readied for Maa Durga and — for a daughter coming back home with her children. The house was also in constant chaos; it was always preparing for the next thing. This tension usually shot up in the morning hours when her mother, grandmother and aunties slipped into their Anjali looks. Whatever they wore, they looked dreamy.
She wondered if the occasion they dressed up for play a trick. Because Anjoli, the chanting and coming together in prayers, always brought out her sincerest sentiments.
